Services Offered

The Handbag Restoration Company offers a range of services, including strap lengthening, restoration, colour change, replacement panels and parts, cleaning, hardware service and bespoke services to restore and refresh your handbags. Our services are provided with the utmost care and attention, but we cannot guarantee that every bag can be restored to its original condition.

Storing and Payments

All items when received are thoroughly inspected, photographed and properly stored in individually labelled boxes.

If you have already had an estimate for the work, we reserve the right to suggest other services if the wrong treatments have been requested.

  • We will contact you prior to work being carried out for full payment.
  • The Handbag Restoration Company does not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any item in its possession that has not been paid for.
  • Any item left unpaid for 16 weeks may be disposed of
  • All payments to The Handbag Restoration Company are to be made via BACs, PayPal or in-store at Miss Persnickety.

If the Buyer fails to make any payment on the due date then, without prejudice to any other right or remedy available to The Handbag Restoration Company, The Handbag Restoration Company shall be entitled to:

a) cancel or suspend any further deliveries to the Buyer. When the Buyer does bring his payments up to date any re-order or re-activation of a suspended order will only be accepted subject to stock availability at that time;
b) appropriate any payment made by the Buyer to such of the Goods (or the goods supplied under any other contract between the Buyer and The Handbag Restoration Company) as The Handbag Restoration Company may think fit (notwithstanding any purported appropriation by the Buyer);
c) charge the Buyer interest compounded on a monthly basis (both before and after any judgement) on the amount unpaid, at the rate of 3% per month, until payment in full is made; and
d) charge the Buyer for any additional costs of providing the Goods to the Buyer which is due to any factor beyond The Handbag Restoration Company’s control (including but not limited to any foreign exchange fluctuation, currency regulation and alteration of taxes and duties).

Liability

Whilst your item(s) is in our care you are insured up to the Full Value, Depreciated Value or our Maximum Liability, whichever is the lesser, minus the cost of our Services. This is to cover you should your item(S) become lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair. Items in our care are;

a) Any item currently having our services carried out, or waiting for our services to be carried out, after payment.
b) Any item in transit with our Couriers.

Exclusions to liability

The Handbag Restoration Company are a cleaning repair and restoration service and any items that are sent to us are in a damaged and/or devalued state.

We cannot be held liable for:
a) Any damage to, or defect in, an item which we have not been contracted to work on (this includes hardware).

b) Delays or failures which are due to any cause beyond our reasonable control.
c) Failed repairs due to the inherent problems within the material or structure of the item – please note that charges may still apply for any work already completed.
d) ‘Loss of Value’ against a manufacturer’s original model after the service has been carried out. Any damage which is not related to or caused by our services.
e) The Handbag Restoration Company use industry-standard techniques and professional materials, we do not warrant the use of or employment of, manufacturer-original materials or processes.

Where original materials are not available, parts and colours will be matched as closely as possible to the original – or to the agreed specification (such as colour matched to a particular part of the item.) When a colour match/ colour change is required, it is the responsibility of the customer to provide a suitable colour swatch to the Handbag Restoration Company. This is to ensure there is no room for interpretation of what colour is required, therefore a digital colour swatch is not appropriate.

f) The Handbag Restoration Company cannot be held liable for the loss or damage of any accessories, such as dust bags, locks, credit cards etc. that are not noted on our system during the booking procedure.
g) If an item is repaired to a reasonably satisfactory standard no liability will be accepted for depreciation in value.

h) The Handbag Restoration Company does not accept any responsibility for any colour match/ colour change being different to that which was expected if a swatch with the required colour has not been provided (please note, digital swatches are not appropriate) i) Any item that is lost in transit, whereby the appropriate value has not been stated at the point of order

j) Any failed repair that is deemed to be a result of normal wear and tear over a 90-day period k) Any item sent to The Handbag Restoration Company that has not yet been paid for
l) Any item that has been sent without any prior agreement to the Handbag Restoration Company’s terms and conditions.

Payment for our services is due at the time the service is ordered. We accept payment by credit card, debit card, or PayPal. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

E-Gift Vouchers

To redeem a gift voucher, please quote the voucher code on orders placed within 12 months of receipt. If you’re spending more than the value of the gift voucher, you’ll need to pay the extra using another payment method in the usual way, ie, BACs or PayPal.

If you’re spending less than the value of the gift voucher, the remaining value will remain for you to spend later, but you’ll need to spend the balance before the expiry date. Gift vouchers cannot be redeemed against courier fees. Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.

Delivery

  • We use DPD to collect and deliver your item.
  • Charges for collection/delivery are for UK mainland addresses only.
  • Collection/delivery locations outside of this area will require an additional quotation and will incur additional fees.
  • We will email an invoice with delivery details; this should be checked as we cannot be held responsible for the incorrect delivery address.
  • If an item is late, whilst we cannot be held responsible, we will contact the courier to make an effort to get it delivered promptly.
  • We take no responsibility for any items lost or damaged that are not within our care or the care of our Couriers.
  • We will always insure every item adequately when dispatching unless a written agreement from the customer is received with their item choosing their preferred postal/insurance method.
  • If an item is unable to be collected by the courier without prior contact for alternative arrangements there will be a £20 levied by the courier. This will be payable prior to rebooking any further collections.
  • We are not responsible for any damage to the bag during shipping to us, and we recommend that you insure your bag for its full value. We are not responsible for any customs fees or taxes that may be charged on international orders.

 

Complaints

All articles must be inspected by the customer upon receipt. Any complaint should be made known to The Handbag Restoration Company within 48 hours of receipt otherwise we cannot be held liable for any subsequent complaints.

If we are found to be at fault we will endeavour to repair and/or alter the Item to your satisfaction at our cost within our 6-month guarantee provided. In all circumstances, this will be the first course of action. Where the item has to be returned to us for this purpose, we will reimburse your costs of dispatch with evidence of a valid receipt/invoice.

If the fault is through misuse or customer liability any work to rectify the fault will be at your own cost.

The Handbag Restoration Company keep photographic records of all work before and after all work has been carried out.

Sale of contract

The Handbag Restoration Company reserves the right to refuse any services to customers and reject any article. This does not affect your statutory rights.

The Handbag Restoration Company refuses to work on any counterfeit leather goods. Should The Handbag Restoration Company suspect the customer’s leather good/s to be counterfeit, authentication will be requested. If this cannot be provided, the customer’s restoration will not be completed and the item returned.

Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, images, and logos, is the property of The Handbag Restoration Company and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our content without our express written permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability of our services or website. We do not warrant that our services or website will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use of our services or website, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, and consequential damages.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Changes to these Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to update or change these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the date at the top of the page will reflect the date of the most recent revision.
